Outdoor sliding barn doors, especially those leading to outside car parking or a backyard, usually ride on a heavy duty track and are a great option to close off a back yard or outdoor parking spot.
If a gate is stuck or won’t open properly it is possible that the structure holding the track has sagged or become misaligned. This can cause the door to not open or to make a clicking sound where there is a joint in two pieces of track. The track is usually joined with special clips into exterior pressure treated framing lumber. Sometimes these clips can separate, the lumber holding the track can twist or break over time, or the overall structure may need to be strengthened. In this case it is important to use structural wood construction connectors and appropriate outdoor rated structural fasteners.
There are many ways that we can repair these issues:
- we can straighten stuck or sagging doors by replacing parts
- we can replace roller assemblies or other parts
- we can build new sliding doors and mount them to the existing track
Whatever the issue, we are able to help keep your outdoor sliding barn doors in working order!
